This restored collection of episodes represents the inaugeral "Penumbra" arc introducing Barbara Wilson as the "Femme Phantom" battling "Mistress Penumbra" as she attempts to take over Hidden Harbor's gangs and, in turn, the city. The series changed formats many times over its 15 year run and this iteration represents a shift from an armchair murder mystery stories to pulp fiction heroics.
"The Wrong Turn"

Nolan Bellson takes us to his vision of the late 40s with America fighting a war against a terrifying Soviet Union that has obliterated Nazi Germany in a swift, bloody invasion. Now, with western Europe in the balance, we are introduced to a poor and desperate America where there are still many "haves" but far more "have nots" with the majority of its heroes entrenched in eastern France to keep Democracy alive.
Our story begins with a simple family trying to get home after a night at the theater...
"Death Gives to Charity"

We're introduced to the Ghost of Hidden Harbor, a spirit that protects the innocent of Hidden Harbor. In a battle both real and psychological, our heroine defeats the Neighborhood Watch and arrives home just in time for a charity dinner at Wilson Manor. But things are not as they seem at Barbara Wilson's homestead...
"A Matter of the Mind"

Mobsters disrupt Barbara Wilson's charity event. What they want is more than the cash and jewels of Hidden Harbor's elite, but the Femme Phantom has something to say about that.
Meanwhile wanted fugitives try to leave the country with the help of a Hidden Harbor gang boss but find themselves in dire straits.
Our heroes go on the offensive.

"Out of Shadow, Into Darkness"

Private Detective Horn infiltrates the Alraune Building, home to infamous Club Penumbra. What he discovers appears to be more sinister than even he expected. The Femme Phantom visits a fallen adversary to find out more about Mistress Penumbra's plot.
